Run your own micro surf retreat in Lagos this winter
The whole top floor of The Hill, with a yoga studio downstairs. Our camp, with the pool and the surf school, is 4 minutes away. €2,000 a week for up to 8 guests. Your host room is free.
Who it’s for
You already have the group. You need beds, a studio, a kitchen and a surf school next door. We rent you the top floor, you run the week.
Yoga and breathwork teachers
You lead six to eight guests and want a winter week with a surf morning in it. The studio is downstairs, and you do not have to hire a surf coach.
Surf and university clubs
Eight members, four twin rooms, one kitchen to share. Split the week eight ways and add lessons at pack rates.
Endurance clubs
Cycling, triathlon and running groups who want a winter block away from the cold. Mobility sessions on the studio floor, a cold plunge in the pool and surf as cross-training.
Small teams
Up to nine people, a small office, a kitchen and a studio with a big screen. Work in the day, surf with a lesson, eat together at night.

A sample week
Your programme is yours. Here is one way a week can run, with yoga every day and five surf lessons. Surf days move with the conditions, and we choose the beach the evening before.
Day 1: Arrive
Arrive in Lagos, settle into the rooms, shop for the week and cook together. Opening circle in the studio.
Day 2: First surf
Morning stretching on the terrace, then your first surf lesson. Evening yoga in the studio.
Day 3: Yoga and work
Morning yoga, surf lesson two, then an afternoon of work in the studio or the office.
Day 4: Meia Praia
Morning yoga and surf lesson three. Walk to Meia Praia for the sunset.
Day 5: Lagos
Morning stretching, surf lesson four, then lunch in town. Evening work session.
Day 6: Movie night
Morning yoga, surf lesson five and a cold plunge. Movie night in the studio on the big screen.
Day 7: Slow day
A long morning practice, a walk along the coast and a group dinner in the Hill kitchen.
Day 8: Depart
Closing practice, pack and head home. Weeks run 7 nights from any arrival day you choose.
The maths for a retreat leader
The top floor costs €2,000 a week, whatever your group size. Your host room is free. Here is what the accommodation works out to per guest.
If each guest also takes the 5-lesson pack (€225), beds and lessons come to €475 per person with eight guests, before food and flights. Your price to guests, and what you include in it, is your call.
Add-ons
Surf lessons
Lessons are not included, so your group decides how many. Guests staying with us get winter pack rates: 5 lessons for €225 or 10 lessons for €400 per person, valid to 14 March 2027. Not everyone has to take the same number. Group lessons need a minimum of 3 people. See the surf school.
The Bungalow Block
1 to 4 private bungalows at our camp, 4 minutes away, for extra guests or a club that wants more space. Each has its own kitchenette, bathroom and air conditioning, and sleeps up to 3. €420 per bungalow per week.
Winter in Lagos
Winter storms in the Atlantic bring the biggest, most consistent swell of the year to the west coast, with fewer people in the water.

Two coasts, one base
Lagos sits between two coastlines. When the west coast is too big or too messy, the south coast, a short drive away, often works. We pick the beach the evening before, based on the forecast. Kiting is possible on some days, but wind is less consistent than in summer.
The cold has an upside. The unheated pool is a cold plunge after a session, and a group that plunges together tends to remember the week.
