Meia Praia Kitesurfing Spot – our new beach station!

Welcome to Meia Praia, the hidden gem of the Algarve region, great spot for both kitesurfing and wingfoiling. Known for its long, sandy beach, deep water conditions, and vast open space, Meia Praia offers an idyllic setting for water sports enthusiasts. We at Algarve Water Sport are thrilled to announce the opening of our new beach tent station at Meia Praia, providing top-notch facilities and lessons to help you make the most of this stunning location.

Located just outside of Lagos, Meia Praia is a long, sandy beach that provides an excellent setting for kiteboarding with its extensive open space and convenient access. Kitesurfers frequent the beach during the winter months when the south winds are more common. With the right west and southeast winds, Meia Praia can be treated as one of the top wave kitesurfing spots on the south coast.

In the summer Kitesurfing in Meia praia calms down to the summer winds Off-shore nature which makes it a bit more advanced and tricky spot. Nevertheless even with everyday summer winds kiting is possible but boat support is advised.

Whenever the wind is blowing offshore the beach of Meia Praia and makes the water glassy flat and empty, we realize that this open space is a great spot to kite in peace and not worry too much about the crowds.
That’s why our new beach station at Meia Praia is designed to enhance your kitesurfing and wingfoiling experience. Offshore winds are not scary, and without boat support, we want to take advantage of the large empty waters of Meia Praia.
Our beach station is open every day from Thursday to Monday at 1 pm.
We offer a variety of services:

• Kitesurfing teaser lessons – up to 1 hour of kite control lesson at the beach
• Private kitesurfing lessons with radio communication and boat support
• Wingfoiling lessons,
• Boat rescue – for external riders – don’t worry about offshore wind; we got you!
• On-spot kitesurfing rental and wing foil rental after previous contact

The beach station is equipped with all the necessary amenities and expert instructors to provide a seamless and enjoyable learning experience with a very few kiters around.
