Twenty summers in the Algarve.

Water sports, real people, Lagos since 2006.

Who we are

A mixed team from across Europe — surfers, kiters, yoga teachers, chefs, wake coaches, ocean addicts. We come in our 20s and 30s, and most of us stay far longer than we planned.

Some arrived for one season and never left. Some came as guests and ended up on the team. What connects all of us is the water — and the belief that a week spent doing something physical, something real, is a week well spent. We’re not a hotel. We’re not a franchise. We’re a crew that chose to build something here in Lagos, and keeps choosing it, season after season.

01 — Recharge

Switch off properly.

Sunshine, sea air, and someone else handling the logistics. No inbox. No commute. Just the water, the wind, and whatever you’re learning that day. You focus entirely on the sport — we handle everything else.

02 — Connect

Meet your people.

Camp creates a kind of community that’s hard to explain and impossible to fake. Shared meals, shared wipeouts, shared sunsets. Most guests leave with people they’ll stay in touch with for years. Some come back as a group the following summer.

03 — Discover

Find your love for the water.

Discovering a love for the wind, for the waves, for the feeling of doing something you didn’t think you could. Standing up for the first time. Riding a kite. Flying on a foil. That feeling is what people actually come back for.

Twenty years in the water

It started on the west coast in 2006 — a house, a handful of guests, surfing and some kiting. When the kite scene started growing on the south coast, the move to Lagos was obvious.

The first base in Lagos was a house in town, near the main car park close to the old town hall. That lasted until 2012, when the Kitehouse became the home it still is today. Kite, surf and windsurfing were the programme. The team was small, but guests kept coming back.

By 2015/16 the team had grown to 15-20 people. In 2020, Wake Park Lagos joined the programme. In 2021, wing foiling came along — learned alongside the first students. By 2023, the team had reached 40 people across sports, house, kitchen and office.

Now some of the team have been here for ten years. Some guests are on their fifth or sixth visit. That’s not something you plan for — it just happens when you get the place and the people right.

Water sports — all from
the same base in Lagos

What makes this place different

The only one

Six sports, one location

The only multi-sport water sports camp in southern Portugal. Surf, kite, wing foil, windsurf, wakeboard, SUP — all from the same base. If the swell is flat, there’s kite. If the wind drops, there’s surf. If you want something different, we’ve got it.

Your base

The Kitehouse

Accommodation, breakfast, dinner, daily yoga, transport to the spots — all handled before you arrive. You show up with a bag. We take care of the rest. Guests have been calling it the best-value week in Portugal for twenty years.

The people

A team that chose to be here

Some have been here for a decade. Some arrived last season. All of them chose to work near the water instead of anywhere else. Your surf coach sits next to you at dinner. The person making your breakfast knows your name by day two.

The people behind it

Surfers, kiters, yoga teachers, chefs, ocean addicts. Some have been here for ten years. Some joined last season. All of them chose to work near the water instead of anywhere else — and that shows up in every part of the week.
